More than 30 Syrian refugees to be rehomed in Aberdeen
North-east has welcomed 67 individuals to the region in the past year.
Aberdeen will welcome more than 30 Syrian refugees to the city as part of a resettlement programme.
Almost 70 individuals have already been rehomed in the Granite City as part of the Home Office-funded scheme.
While the families are not staying in council homes, they have been given private-sector options.
The United Nations claim five million people have chosen to flee the warn-torn country during the six-year conflict.
An Aberdeen City Council spokeswoman said: "In the last 14 months, Community Planning Aberdeen has successfully helped 67 'Syrian New Scots' move to Aberdeen and start new lives here under the Syrian Resettlement Programme (formerly known as the Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme).
"There has been a fantastic response from many residents in Aberdeen who have dedicated their time to volunteer to help support these families.
"This work and support will continue as we now look to bring the final groups of refugees to Aberdeen before the end of 2017."
