A charity has called for action after claiming blind people are "regularly" refused access to public transport.

Guide Dog Scotland's plea comes after a guide dog user was refused entry on a bus in Aberdeen last week.

Colin Clark tried to travel on a Stagecoach bus in the city only to be told it was company's policy to have one dog on board per deck.

The 30-year-old has relied on his guide dog Vicky for over two years now.

Stagecoach has now apologised to Mr Clark but Guide Dog Scotland says public transport access is still a major problem in Scotland.

The charity says it deals with around one case every week where someone has been unable to use transport or refused entry to a restaurant because of their assistance dog.
