
Scot hit by suspected drink-and-drug driver in Spain
Cyclist Scott Gordon was injured and two people died in incident on Sunday.
A Scot has been seriously injured after being hit by a suspected drink-and-drug driver in Spain.
Scott Gordon, of Fraserburgh in Aberdeenshire, was cycling with the Atletic Llebeig Club near Oliva when he was struck.
The woman driving the vehicle is understood to have failed a drink and drugs test following the collision.
A Civil Guard spokesman confirmed two died people following the incident.
He said: "Two of the cyclists in the group of six have died, one is in a critical condition, two are serious and one suffered only light injuries."
Mr Gordon, who works in the oil industry, is understood to have moved to Javea.
He previously attended Fraserburgh Academy and Banff and Buchan College.
Condolences have been posted online, wishing Mr Gordon a quick recovery.
One said: "Terrible, sending Scott and his family my best wishes for a speedy recovery."
Another added: "Hope Scott is on the mend. Terrible hearing such sad news."
