Vandals damage 16 cars during weekend spree in Aberdeen
Appeal after vehicles were targeted in city's Chattan Place and Claremont Street.
Aberdeen residents have been warned to be on alert after vandals damaged 16 cars in a weekend spree.
Residents on Chattan Place and Claremont Street awoke to find scratches on their vehicle's doors and panels.
Officers have appealed for information to help catch those responsible while urging householders to be on alert.
Sergeant Robert Shand said: "This has been a malicious and extensive act of vandalism which will cause inconvenience, financial loss and needless worry to those affected.
"I can assure the public it won't be tolerated. This is generally an extremely safe area to live, however, I would urge people to always try and park your vehicle in a well-lit spot which is overlooked.
"It goes without saying that you should be able to park your car without the fear of being targeted, however it's important to always remain vigilant.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous."
