
Bach Choir marks 60th anniversary with special concert

Aberdeen Bach Choir will celebrate its 60th anniversary with a special concert at St Machar's Cathedral.
The concert, on Sunday explores music by British composers through the ages.
Fourth century work from St Ambrose and St Augustine will also feature in the concert.
Beginning with a core of 12 members in 1956, the choir now consists of more than a hundred singers, and usually performs two main recitals a year.
The choir will be accompanied on the organ by David Gerrard, former organ scholar of Magdalen College Oxford.
As part of their anniversary the choir has appointed two distinguished musicians as patrons of the choir, professor John Butt and Dame Emma Kirkby.
