Participants from throughout the UK are taking part in Gymfest 2017 over the weekend at the AECC.

Almost 1500 gymnasts in 64 teams are participating in the Scottish Gymnastics annual festival.

This will be the first time the event has came to Aberdeen and expects an audience of up to 4,000 people.

Scottish group The Spartans, semi-finalists in Britain's Got Talent last year, are among the teams taking part.

Gymfest aims to provide gymnasts of all ages with a professional platform to showcase their talents.

Euan Lowe, Scottish Gymnastics chief executive said: "Scottish Gymnastics is excited to be taking Gymfest 2017 to the city of Aberdeen.

"This is the showpiece display event in our calendar and we hope to see this move to Aberdeen embraced by not only our large contingency of teams but also the local community."
