Pupils at three Aberdeen primary schools enjoyed a fun Friday after receiving a special visit from a Viking squad.

The loud but friendly Vikings from Shetland visited children at Danestone School, Forehill School and Heathryburn School.

Kveldulf Bjalfason will lead his 25-strong squad in full battle dress to teach the children about their heritage and festivals.

Shetland are famous for their viking heritage and honour with the Up Helly Aa festival every January.

The squad is stopping off in Aberdeen on their way to the Spirit of Speyside Festival.

The festival showcases a range of music, dance, food as well as some of the country's leading whisky brands.
