A 91-year-old man has been seriously injured after being hit by a van on a road in Aberdeenshire.

The pedestrian was struck by the vehicle around 12.10pm on Thursday as he walked along an unclassified road between Findon and Cove.

He suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The-37-year old van driver was uninjured.

Police Scotland is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them on 101.

Anyone who saw the pedestrian or a white Vauxhall Vivaro van on the road around midday on Thursday is also asked to get in touch.
