An ambulance and a silver BMW have collided in Moray, leading to the closure of part of the A96.

The incident took place near Lhanbryde, beside the junction with Fogwatt, at around 11am on Friday.

A spokeswoman for the ambulance service confirmed that a patient was within the ambulance, which was a patient transfer vehicle.

Three ambulance crews were sent to the scene, and two people were taken to Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin.

The A96 was closed between the two roundabouts at Lhanbryde until around 2pm.
