A man has died after becoming stuck under a car in his garage.

The 54-year-old became trapped under the vehicle as he was working on it at his home in Invergordon in the Highlands on Wednesday night.

Emergency services were called to the scene but the man died from his injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We can confirm that emergency services attended an address in Invergordon about 8.40pm yesterday evening following a report of a 54-year-old man trapped within a garage.

"Unfortunately, the man died at the scene.

"There were no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course."
