An "unexplained" death forced the closure of a major car park near Aberdeen's train station on Friday morning.

Police discovered a body close to the College Street multi-storey car park shortly after 5am.

Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death but have not released any information about the deceased.

Although the death is described as "unexplained" it is not believed to be suspicious.

A police spokeswoman said: "College Street car park was closed just after 5am following a sudden death which is currently being treated as unexplained."

The car park was reopened just after 10am and there was no disruption to train services as a result of the incident.
