Biker swerved through traffic at over 100mph chased by police
John Cumming, 43, weaved between cars while pursued by police, a court heard.
A biker who swerved through traffic at more than 100mph has been banned from the road.
John Cumming, 43, weaved between cars on the A96 while pursued by police on September 26.
Cumming failed to stop even after the officers switched on their sirens and blue lights.
The Blackburn to Aberdeen road was reduced to 40mph and 50mph in places due to works on the Aberdeen Bypass but Cumming continued to drive at high speeds.
Police gave up their pursuit when it became clear he did not plan to stop and Cumming was charged later.
He was fined £1000 and banned from driving for 18 months at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Thursday.
Sergeant Steve Manson said: "This is one of the worst incidents of dangerous driving I have seen, not only did the rider put himself at risk but also other road users as well as the nearby road workers.
"The officers attended at Mr Cumming's house just after the incident and spoke with his wife. Given the type of riding displayed they could easily have been there to pass a death message.
"As part of Police Scotland's Operation Zenith we are looking to reduce the motorcycle casualty rate and the type of riding shown is exactly what we are looking to target.
"Road policing officers will continue to carry out marked and unmarked patrols in the area and report drivers who fail to comply with the speed limits."
