Murder suspect appears in court over man's death at house

A murder suspect has appeared in court over the death of a man in the Highlands.
Paul Cannop, 24, has been accused of murdering 32-year-old Paul Fairweather, who was found dead at a house on Holborn Avenue, Thurso, on Tuesday.
Cannop made no plea to the charge when he appeared in private at Wick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
The case was continued for further examination.
The accused, of Caithness in Wick, has been remanded in custody and will be brought back to court within the next eight days.
Detective inspector Brian Geddes said: "There will continue to be an increased police presence in the area for some time whilst we continue our enquiries, and I would urge anyone with information who has not yet spoken to police to call 101."
