A Co-op lorry has smashed into two signposts and careered off a road.

Emergency services were called to the A87 between Portree and Sligachan on Skye on Thursday.

The lorry was travelling south when it crashed into a ditch.

Officers said the driver was not injured.

It comes after a yellow warning for snow and ice was put in place for parts of Scotland until 10am on Friday.

The weather has resulted in a spate of crashes on roads including the A9 and A82 in the Highlands.
