Best man's stag do disappearance 'out of character'
Liam Colgan, from Inverness, was last seen in Hamburg in the early hours of Saturday.
The friend of a Scot missing after a stag night in Germany has said his disappearance is "completely out of character".
Liam Colgan, from Inverness, was last seen in Hamburg in the early hours of Saturday morning.
As the best man he had organised the trip for 18 people ahead of his brother Eamonn's wedding in March.
He vanished at around 1.30am on Saturday after separating from the group and leaving a bar in the Reeperbahn area.
The 29-year-old's friend Alan Pearson, who was also on the trip, said they only learned he had not returned to his accommodation the next morning.
"This is completely out of character for him, there's no way you can imagine him doing this," he said.
"When we realised he wasn't in his room the next morning we were immediately concerned.
"When he didn't turn up for the activities we knew there was something wrong."
The group alerted the authorities when he failed to show up for activities organised on the Saturday afternoon.
Mr Colgan's brother and father have remained in Hamburg along with a few others to continue the search, while friends at home have been helping by contacting hospitals in the city.
The Foreign Office is also in contact with German police.
