Four teenage boys are being hunted by police after a pensioner was attacked in a Highland village.

A 78-year-old man suffered minor facial injuries outside a house in Muir of Ord, Ross-shire, at around 9pm on Monday.

He was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment.

Inspector David Ogilvie said: "Our enquiries are ongoing and we are urging anyone who saw anything unusual or suspicious in the Logan Way area around that time to get in touch.

"In particular we are looking to speak to four teenage boys who are believed to have been in the area at the time.

"Anyone with information should call us as soon as possible on 101, quoting reference NE14055/17.

"Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given in confidence."
