The father of a three-week-old baby girl who died in the Highlands has been charged with her murder.

Mikayla Haining died on June 8 after being taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.

Tom Haining appeared at the city's sheriff court on Thursday and made no plea.

The 19-year-old was remanded in custody and is expected to appear again at a later date.
