Woman sexually assaulted by passenger in group on train
The incident happened on Aberdeen to Inverness service near Elgin.
Police have appealed for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted on a train by a man who was travelling with seven other people.
She was attacked on the Aberdeen to Inverness service as it travelled between Keith and Elgin.
The man touched her inappropriately as she walked through the carriage.
He was with seven others and got off the train at Elgin following the incident at 9.20pm on Friday June 16.
He was about 25 years old, 6ft and was wearing a black-and-white top and sunglasses.
Investigating officer Nick Ritchie said: "No one has the right to treat another person like that.
"We are determined to stamp out this kind of behaviour from our rail network, so please, if you know this man, let us know.
"If you are ever made to feel uncomfortable, are the victim of a sexual assault or witness one taking place, you can discreetly text us on 61016 and that text goes straight through to our control room."
