A hillwalker was airlifted to hospital after falling in the Cairngorm mountain range.

The woman suffered a suspected broken ankle during a climb on Meall a Buichaille on Saturday afternoon.

Members of the Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team (CMRT) and the ambulance service were called to the scene.

They called for assistance from a rescue helicopter and the woman was airlifted to Raigmore hospital in Inverness shortly before 4pm.

CMRT thanked the other emergency services for their help.
