A motorist has died following a one-vehicle road crash in the Highlands.
The A99 was shut between Wester and Keiss in Caithness after the crash at 3.30am on Thursday.
The man is believed to have died at the scene of the collision but nobody else was injured.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police in Caithness are advising drivers the A99 is currently closed between Wester and Keiss following a serious road traffic collision involving one vehicle.
"There is a diversion in place via Lyth. The road may be closed for some time and drivers are thanked for their patience."
