A 60-year-old woman found dead in her own home died of blunt force trauma to the head.

The body of Elizabeth Mackay was discovered at her house in Inverness on March 31.

Michael Taylor, 70, also from Inverness, has been charged with her murder and is awaiting trial.

The official report into Ms Mackay's death said she was found dead shortly after 5pm at her house on Kintail Court.

Ms Mackay, who worked at a bakery, was laid to rest at Kilvean Cemetery after a service in Inverness earlier this week.

She previously lived in the Nairn area but had stayed in Inverness for around eight years.
