Glen Coe hillwalker died in fall from Munro, says family
The body of Edward Davies, 39, was found in the Sgùrr na h-Ulaidh area on Wednesday.
A hillwalker whose body was found after he went missing in the Highlands died in a fall, his family says.
Edward Davies, 39, is believed to have died in the Sgùrr na h-Ulaidh area on May 8.
His body was found near the Munro on Wednesday shortly after his family travelled from Hampshire to join the search.
In a statement, his family said: "Our beloved Edward has died from a fall whilst hillwalking in the Sgùrr na h-Ulaidh area on May 8.
"Edward's family and friends wish to say how grateful they are to the police, the community of Glencoe and in particular the mountain rescue teams, who have been so very supportive during this difficult time."
The alarm was raised three days after Mr Davies failed to return from a hike on Sgùrr na h-Ulaidh and a search was launched involving the Glencoe, Oban, Lochaber and RAF mountain rescue teams.
On Tuesday, a day before his body was found, his family said they still had "every hope of finding him alive".
