Four people have been taken to hospital as emergency services investigate a possible gas leak at a Highland hotel.

A total of 90 guests were evacuated from their rooms at the Carrbridge Hotel in the village of Carrbridge at 5am Friday.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said four people had been taken to hospital by ambulance and the incident was being treated as a "possible gas leak".

Stephen and Caroline Cunliffe, from Exeter, were among those evacuated.

They said: "One guest evacuated from the hotel said: "We awoke to a very large screaming alarm going off.

"We were all ushered out and told there was a gas leak so we had to go sit in the lounge waiting to be told what to do.

"Then we all went back to our rooms and got dressed."
