T2 Trainspotting has received the most nominations for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (Bafta) Scotland awards.

Edith Bowman will return to host the ceremony in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow on Sunday, November 5.

Danny Boyle's Trainspotting sequel leads the way with a total of five nominations for best feature film, director and three in the actor category.

Ewen Bremner, Robert Carlyle an Ewan McGregor were all nominated for their T2 performance, meaning the sequel is guaranteed a win.

Following with three nominations each are television series In Plain Sight and The Replacement.

Billy Connolly: Portrait of a Lifetime and Glasgow 1967: The Lisbon Lions will compete for best documentary, while The Marvellous World of Roald Dahl and Scotland and the Klan are all nominated in the specialist factual category.

STV will go head to head against the BBC when they both compete for a win in the current affairs category.

STV hopes to impress with Who Cares?, an in-depth look at life in the care system.

It will face off against BBC's Guantanamo Detainees and The Insiders' Guide to the Menopause.

Ms Bowman said: "Bafta Scotland play such an important role in supporting and nurturing creative talent and the British Academy Scotland Awards is a terrific platform to recognise these practitioners.

"I'm thrilled to be part of a celebration of the immense talent in Scotland and I can't wait to see who wins on the night."

Bafta Scotland director Jude MacLaverty added: "The wealth, quality and diversity of this year's nominees is very exciting and we look forward to welcoming everyone for another fantastic evening on November 5.

"We're thrilled to have Edith back as this year's host, she is hugely passionate about recognising and celebrating the phenomenal work produced in Scotland."
