Strictly Come Dancing assault investigation dropped
Gorka Marquez was reported to have had two teeth knocked out in an attack in Blackpool.
An investigation into an alleged assault on Strictly Come Dancing star Gorka Marquez has been dropped.
The professional dancer was reported as having had two teeth knocked out in an unprovoked attack in Blackpool in November.
But police have closed the case having made no arrests and said they never received a complaint from the victim.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "We have carried out a proportionate investigation which is now closed. No arrests have been made.
"We have never received a complaint from the victim and any injuries sustained would seem to be of a minor nature."
Mr Marquez was reported to have been attacked by a "gang of youths" while walking to the city's Flamingo nightclub with fellow dancers Aljaz Skorjanec and Neil Jones hours after appearing on the Strictly's Saturday live show.
At the time, Lancashire Police said they were contacting the BBC in order to "try to establish details" of the incident.
The 26-year-old, who reportedly underwent dental surgery following the attack, used his Twitter and Instagram accounts to thank the fans for their support.
