Strictly star thanks fans for support after attack
Gorka Marquez said he is feeling better after having his teeth knocked out in Blackpool.
Strictly Come Dancing star Gorka Marquez has thanked fans for their support after he was attacked in Blackpool.
It's believed the dancer had two of his teeth knocked out when he was beaten up by a gang of youths at the seaside resort, just hours after taking part in Saturday's live show.
The 26-year-old, who is reportedly undergoing dental surgery following the attack, used his Twitter and Instagram accounts to thank the fans and added that he was feeling better.
He was reportedly walking to The Flamingo nightclub with fellow dancers Aljaz Skorjanec and Neil Jones when the assault took place.
But, despite the incident being widely reported in the media, local police said it has not been reported to them.
Lancashire Police said they have contacted the BBC to "try to establish details" of the incident.
