Actress Marion Cotillard has denied having an affair with Brad Pitt - as she revealed she is pregnant with her second child.

The French star took to Instagram to speak out against the allegations after it was announced Pitt and Angelina Jolie were divorcing.

She wrote: "I am not used to commenting on things like this nor taking them seriously but as this situation is spiraling and affecting people I love, I have to speak up."

Cotillard continued: "Firstly, many years ago, I met the man of my life, father of our son and of the baby we are expecting.

"He is my love, my best friend, the only one I need."

Hitting back at the affair rumours, she said: "To those who have indicated that I am devastated, I am very well thank you."

She ended the lengthy post with: "Finally, I do very much wish that Angelina and Brad, both of whom I deeply respect, will find peace in this tumultuous moment."
