Coronation Street's Kylie Platt is to be killed off in a dramatic twist, show bosses have announced.

Details of how Kylie - who murdered her evil ex Callum Logan - dies are being kept under wraps.

A new promotional trailer shows Kylie, played by Paula Lane, packing her belongings into a car but the mood switches when it is revealed to be a hearse.

Her final scenes air the week beginning Monday 11th July.

"It was very emotional to film the scenes knowing that I would never return and her death has huge consequences for David and all the family," Lane said.

The 30-year-old announced she was leaving the soap in February.

She has been involved in some of the most dramatic storylines during her six years on the show.

She murdered evil drug dealer Callum Logan to stop him from harming her sister-in-law Sarah Platt.

The Platts buried him under their house, but a guilt-ridden Kylie has struggled under the pressure.
