This year's Big Brother will feature two houses for the first time in the show's history.

The news was revealed by hosts Emma Willis and Rylan Clark-Neal in a series of tweets on the show's Twitter page.

Earlier in the day Rylan revealed there would be some "big news" when he appeared on ITV's This Morning.

He tweeted:

In a further twist, the two sets of housemates will be unaware of each other - or that they might be connected to contestants in the Other house.

The Big Brother 2016 live launch will air on Channel 5 at 9pm on June 7.
