Edinburgh-born rocker Shirley Manson proved she never misses a beat as she continued singing despite falling off stage.

Manson, the lead singer of Garbage, was singing their 1998 hit Special when she tumbled off the stage during a festival in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The fall was captured on by a festival-goer on their mobile phone and posted on YouTube.

The crowd can be heard cheering the Stupid Girl singer, 49, after she quickly stands up again and continues singing, standing in front of the barricades at the KROQ Weenie Roast festival.

The band appeared to hint at the incident with a post on their Facebook page, referring to their forthcoming album Strange Little Birds.

They said: "So we got the first show of Strange Little Birds under our belt yesterday.

"Could have been worse. Could have been better. There are always monsters to chase in dreams."
