David Bowie's handwritten lyrics to his hit The Jean Genie are to go under the hammer.

The "only complete set of David Bowie lyrics to ever appear at auction" are set to fetch at least £35,000.

They are being auctioned by US auction house Paddle8 on March 31.

The rare lyrics were written to entertain model and Warhol associate Cyrinda Foxes in her New York apartment during Bowie's first US tour.

Released in 1972, the song became the lead single for his album Aladdin Sane and became one of Bowie's biggest hits.

Bowie died in January aged 69 following an 18-month battle with cancer.
