Man injured after being stabbed in neck during murder bid

A man has been stabbed in the neck during an attempted murder in Dunfermline.
The 36-year-old victim was confronted by two men at an address in the Halbeath area of the Fife town at 7.30pm on Monday.
After a short exchange, one of the men attacked the 36-year-old with a bladed weapon.
Emergency services were called to the scene and the injured man was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he was treated for a serious neck injury.
Staff at the hospital say he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Police have now launched an attempted murder investigation and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective sergeant Alexander Brydon of Fife Police said: "This was a vicious attack which has left victim seriously harmed.
"Thankfully the victim was quickly attended to, however the consequences of this attack could have been much more serious.
"We are eager to trace the two men involved as soon as possible.
"I would appeal to anyone who was in the Fod Street area of Halbeath on the evening of Monday, April 1, and saw anything suspicious, to come forward at their earliest convenience."
