Woman dead and two injured in 'wrong direction' A1 crash
An 80-year-old woman died and two people were taken to hospital after the smash.
An 80-year old woman has died and two people have been seriously injured after a crash in East Lothian.
It is believed that one of the cars involved in the crash was travelling in the wrong direction.
The collision happened at around 4:30pm on Saturday when a Toyota Yaris collided with a Renault Megane on the A1 between Gladsmuir and Abbotsview.
The 80-year-old woman driving the Yaris sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 30-year-old driver of the Renault and his 31-year-old female passenger were also seriously injured and have been taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.
A four-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the Megane, was taken to the Sick Kids Hospital as a precaution.
Police Scotland have appealed for anybody with information on the incident to contact them on 101.
