Police are appealing for information after a number of thefts from vehicles in Edinburgh.

Three incidents were reported on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, all involving vehicles parked in the Newbridge and Blackburn areas of the city.

In each case, parts were stolen from the vehicles. Police said the items included catalytic converters, turbo pipes, batteries and headlights.

Inquiries are ongoing and anyone who with information is asked to contact police.

Constable James Wishart said: "This has been a brazen theft of vehicle parts from businesses who need this equipment to operate.

"Those responsible have impacted the victims financially and caused considerable distress.

"I would ask anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the Newbridge and Blackburn areas overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday morning to report this to us as soon as possible.

"Equally anyone who has seen, or been offered, any of the vehicles parts in recent days is asked to get in touch."
