Man charged after 'flat deliberately set on fire'
Emergency crews were called to the blaze at Loanhead High Street, Midlothian, on Saturday.
A man has been arrested after a flat in Midlothian was allegedly set on fire.
Police Scotland and the fire service attended the property on Loanhead High Street at around 8.15pm on Saturday.
The fire is being treated as deliberate, and a 50-year-old man has been charged in connection.
No one was hurt and no evacuation was required.
A report will now be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
DC Kenneth McKenzie of Dalkeith CID said: "Emergency services were quick to respond and ensure the fire did not take hold.
"I'm keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen or heard anything which may assist my investigation into this incident."
