A new inclusive playground and a multi-use games area are to be built in Edinburgh's Saughton Park.

Work on the £6.7m park restoration began in 2017, including landscaping, replanting floral beds, constructing a new cafe and refurbishing the park's winter garden.

Now, £99,000 of funding from WREN's FCC Scottish Action Fund and almost £50,000 from SUEZ Communities Trust will contribute to the installation of a new inclusive playground and a games area.

Councillor Karen Doran said: "I am delighted with the news that the Saughton Park project will receive not one, but two funding awards, helping further an exciting project to revive this hidden gem for the community and further afield.

"Thanks to WREN and SUEZ we will be able to create two fully-inclusive facilities, encouraging play, interaction and physical activity amongst people from all backgrounds."
