A man has been arrested and charged with drink-driving after a two-car crash.

The collision involving a Ford Fiesta and a Hyundai Coupe happened on the B981 near Crossgates at around 7.25pm on Tuesday.

The driver of the Hyundai Coupe was given a breath test and allegedly found to be approximately six times over the legal limit.

No one was injured as a result of the collision.

The 39-year-old man appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

Inspector Brenda Sinclair said: "We have a zero tolerance policy on drink-driving and it is disappointing that people continue to take risks by driving after consuming alcohol.

"There are potentially catastrophic consequences to driving whilst under the influence of alcohol and it endangers the life of all those using the road.

"I would urge all drivers to always make alternative travel arrangements when they plan to have a drink."
