A man has been charged following reports of an "aggressive" dog walker threatening passers-by in a Midlothian town.

Incidents of threatening behaviour by a man walking his dog were reported in Loanhead on Monday this week and on September 4.

In the earlier incident, a man allegedly made a threatening gesture towards a 48-year-old woman who was driving to work from her home in the town's Park View.

On Friday, Police Scotland said a 43-year-old man had been charged with breaching the peace.

A police spokeswoman said: "A report will now be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
