Royal Highland Show begins four-day event in Edinburgh
Last year the event welcomed a record 189,000 visitors.
Over 7000 farmyard animals will be critiqued at this year's Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh.
The four-day event is now in its 177th year, and will feature some of the country's best food and drink in the largest showcase of its kind.
Voted 'a great day out' by 68% of visitors, the Royal Highland Show is where rural skills are brought to life and visitors soak up the sights and sounds of the countryside.
Last year the event welcomed a record 189,000 visitors and generated £47m for the Scottish economy.
One of Scotland's most prominent horse breeds, the Clydesdale, was chosen as the hero image for the show, following the success of last year's Morag the Highland Cow.
Jennifer the Clydesdale horse has been bred by esteemed breeder Ronnie Black from Fife, and is the fourth generation of Best in Breed at the show.
Ronnie is naturally proud that his prodigy has been chosen as the show pin up for the 177th event. He said: "Jennifer is from a long line of Royal Highland Show champions and my family and I are delighted that she is featuring in the advertising campaign.
"While Jennifer will not be at the Show as she will hopefully be caring for her newborn foal, other members of her family will be flying the flag for the Collessie champion.
"The Clydesdale is a breed of draught horse derived from the farm horses of Clydesdale which is in existence thanks to a committed number of breeders who invest time and passion into protecting the future of this beautiful native breed.
"There is no better showcase to see this magnificent animal than at the Royal Highland Show."
