A warning has been issued after dogs were poisoned from eating meat containing blue pills.

A probe has been launched after pets were injured on Kings Road, Grangemouth.

The two dogs were treated for ingesting rat poison on Wednesday, May 31.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "A resident let her two small dogs outside in the safety of their enclosed garden and a short time later she observed two pieces of raw meat on the ground which contained blue pills.

"The dogs subsequently had to be rushed to the vet and treated for ingestion of rat poison.

"If you have further information regarding this incident please do not hesitate to call police on 101."
