A man has been found dead in the swimming pool of a hotel at Edinburgh Airport.

The 29-year-old's body was discovered at the DoubleTree by Hilton on Eastfield Road on Saturday.

Hotel staff said he was found non-responsive in the swimming pool.

Police Scotland are investigating, although his death is believed to be medically-related.

A spokeswoman said: "Police in Edinburgh are investigating following the death of a 29-year-old man at a hotel on Eastfield Road.

"Emergency services attended, however the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"Enquiries are currently ongoing but the death is not being treated as suspicious. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal."

A spokesman for the hotel said: "We can confirm that a male died after being found non responsive in the hotel swimming pool despite attempts to save him.

"We have been assisting the police with their investigation and we send our deepest condolences to the victim's family."
