Edinburgh to host Paraclimbing World Cup for first time
Up to 200 of the world's top climbers will compete in the capital.
More than 200 of the world's top climbers will arrive in Edinburgh after the city was named host of the Paraclimbing World Cup.
It is the first time the competition has been held in Scotland, with Britain last hosting the event in 2003.
Paraclimbing is an indoor pursuit for those with disabilities with various different categories.
Up to 1200 spectators are expected to attend over the two days of competition a the city's climbing centre in Ratho on September 23-24.
The IFSC Climbing World Cup 2017 is being funded by Edinburgh Leisure and Edinburgh City Council and is being supported by EventScotland.
Climbing will make its debut at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games after being approved by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as part of a package five sports.
