Builders are being sought for a new 200-home development in Edinburgh.

Greendykes has been the subject of several regeneration projects in recent years with permission to add further properties on a brownfield site in the south east of the city.

Savills have been tasked with finding a firm to take on the programme alongside property development company EDI.

The company's Richard Cottingham said: "Greendykes is proving to be popular place to live with the city centre and Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in easy reach.

"The recent success of housing developments in the local area is a result of the convenient location and delivery of town centre improvements, new shops and community facilities.

"We are anticipating a good level of interest from a range of housebuilders."

EDI's senior development manager Kuan Loh said: "EDI is delighted to be releasing Greendykes South, the next phase of our successful Greendykes development.

"As a key component of the wider regeneration of Craigmillar, Greendykes South benefits greatly from its close proximity to major centres of employment, whilst the emphasis that's been put on placemaking, greenspaces and sustainable living, make it a very desirable place to live."
