Social Says: New blockbuster to be filmed in Edinburgh
Hollywood story of Mary Queen of Scots will be shot in the capital this year.
A new Hollywood film telling the story of Mary Queen of Scots will be shot in Edinburgh this year.
The film will reportedly star Lovely Bones actress Saoirse Ronan as Mary Stuart, opposite The Wolf of Wall Street's Margot Robbie as Queen Elizabeth.
The film is being written by House of Cards creator Beau Willimon, according to Variety.
Heather Henderson said: "I'm gathering the Scottish female actors are too busy to play Mary Queen of Scots."
Connor MacFadyen said: "As long as it isn't another Braveheart and tells the actual history then it should be good. It's long needed."
Alex Cupples added: "This is probably the 14th remake of that story, but it is a great story...."
