Firefighters called out to blaze at Jenners department store
Parts of the pavement on Princes Street were cordoned off after small fire on Tuesday.
Firefighters have been scrambled to a blaze at one of Edinburgh's most prestigious department stores filled with Christmas shoppers.
Five fire engines and a police car were called to Jenners after a fire within the store on Tuesday afternoon.
Police cordoned off part of pavement outside the store on Princes Street as crews dealt with the flames after an alarm sounded at around 2.30pm.
It is not yet known whether or not shoppers had to be evacuated.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said a small fire was located towards the front of the building and quickly extinguished.
He said: "On arrival firefighters discovered a small fire between a window and the shop outage. Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. No casualties have been reported."
Crews are still on the scene.
