A man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder in Edinburgh city centre.

The incident, in which a man was allegedly stabbed on North Bridge, took place in the early hours of Saturday, December 10.

The 36-year-old was taken to hospital after suffering a serious injury to his torso.

On Monday, police announced they had arrested and charged a 39-year-old man.

He is expected to appear in court later on Monday.
