Missing dementia sufferer found safe after overnight search

An elderly dementia sufferer who was traced after going missing overnight has been treated for hypothermia.
Robert Haldane, 84, sparked a major police search after he disappeared from his home in Edinburgh on Saturday afternoon.
Officers had been particularly concerned about Mr Haldane because of his medical condition.
They confirmed that he was found safe in the Lochend area of the city on Sunday morning at around 10am.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "At the request of Police Scotland we attended to a male in his 80s.
"Paramedics treated him for hypothermia on scene before taking him to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for further treatment."
Police thanked everyone who assisted in the search.
