Man dies as fire rips through sheltered housing complex
Elderly residents were evacuated from Walter Hay Court in Rosyth, Fife, on Friday.
A man has died after a fire tore through a sheltered housing complex in Fife.
The blaze broke out at Walter Hay Court, just off Admiralty Road in Rosyth, shortly after 10am on Friday, prompting the evacuation of elderly residents.
A man was found dead within one of the properties, while there are no further reports of other people being injured.
The complex is made up of 30 houses for elderly residents.
A police spokeswoman said: "Police in Fife are investigating following a fatal fire at an address in Walter Hay Court, Rosyth.
"The incident happened around 10am on Friday, December 16, when a fire was reported.
"Police and emergency services attended, however a body was found within the property.
"Police are currently undertaking a joint examination of the circumstances with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. A report will be sent the procurator fiscal."
