Woman charged after wreaths taken from war memorial
Candles, photographs, spoons and coffee were put in their place in Prestonfield, Edinburgh.
A woman has been charged after five remembrance wreaths were taken from a war memorial.
Police were alerted when the items were removed from Prestonfield War Memorial in Edinburgh last month.
The incident baffled local residents who found candles, photographs, spoons and coffee had been put in place of the wreaths.
STV News understands the woman is facing a theft charge.
A police spokesman said: "Police in Edinburgh charged a 66-year-old woman in connection with the theft of five wreaths from Prestonfield War Memorial.
"The theft was reported on November 20 and four wreaths have been since recovered and returned.
"A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
