A three-car crash has forced the closure of a busy road on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

The collision took place on the A71, around a mile from the Dalmahoy Country Club, at around 11.40am on Tuesday.

A BMW, Audi Q3 and a Renault Capture collided near the Curriehill junction, blocking the road.

The road has been completely closed and police, ambulance and firefighters are at the scene, which is strewn with debris.

It is not yet known if anyone was injured.
